Kada and Peace had lived together for nearly11 years with their elderly human, when suddenly in February their whole lives changed. Their faithful companion, who showered the canine sisters with love and excellent care died, and not one relative was willing to step up to give these two beautiful dogs the pampered retirement they most deservedly earned.
And so Kada and Peace have been at the Hi Tor Animal Care Center, located in Pamona, N.Y. since the beginning of the year. Because the dogs are so closely bonded, they share a small run-in; they seem to be miserable when kept apart.
The dogs resemble ridgeback mixed breeds although some call them terrier mixes. Whatever their breed however, the dogs are extremely affectionate and well-behaved, however the stress of living in a kennel environment has brought out some undesirable habits.
Kada and Peace's story has been shared a thousand times, but still no rescues, sanctuaries, or individuals have come forward to give these two dogs a home. Recently Kada had difficulty getting on her feet; she may just be suffering from the aged old condition of arthritis, but it is time the dogs had a warm home, a soft hand, and loving words spoken to them. The shelter isn't able to offer continuing veterinary care because of budget restrictions.
Tragically their time is running out at Hi Tor Animal Care Center.
Please share Kada and Peace's story with your family, your friends, and your coworkers. The dogs do not seem to do well with other dogs. Volunteers and advocates would be glad to discuss the dogs with anyone interested in providing a quality home.
If necessary to save the lives of Kada and Peace, the two dogs will be separated.
