Rockmart police arrest two women on drug charges after receiving a tip about possible drug activity inside a Rockmart business.
On Saturday, June 04, 2011, Rockmart police were dispatched to the Handy-Andy on Piedmont Avenue in Rockmart where a witness observed the two women make an exchange inside the store. The exchange was believed to be a drug transaction. The witness called Polk County 911 and reported the incident.
Rockmart Police Sgt. Parker responded to the scene and talked to the suspects. Sgt. Parker asked for and received assistance from Officer Theriot of the Polk County Police Department to search the suspects. Both suspects consented to a search of their purse and person.
Kelly Nichole Presley was found to have a small bag of suspected methamphetamine in her bra. Christian Ramona Brown was found to have 2 bags of suspected methamphetamine, 2 bags of suspected marijuana and 7 Xanax pills in her pants.
Kelly Nichole Presley, age 28, of Rockmart was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. Presley was released on June 06, 2011 after bonding out on a $5100.00 property bond.
Christian Ramona Brown, age 29, of Rockmart, Ga. was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of Xanax and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce). Brown was released on June 06, 2011 after bonding out on a $10,100.00 property bond.
