Two reports: Orange lights spotted over Missouri

Two indenpendent reports of orannge lights in the sky on December 11, 2011, were reported, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

A witness was leaving a Walgreen's at 5:08 p.m. and first noticed a "strange formation of seven lights" in Case 33980.

"At first I thought of helicopters, but there was no sound and the lights were not white,"the witness stated. "They had a yellow-orange glow. They were moving rapidly, but I heard no sound. They were traveling to the northwest. At their closest, they appeared to be spheres that glowed. They made no sound."

The incident was also report to the Wildwood Police.

In an unrelated case, an orange light was reported over the Belton neighborhood on the same date, but at 8 p.m. in Case 33978.

"As I was looking northward to see how much the cloud cover had cleared, I noticed a bright orangish light become visible over/between some houses to the north-northwest of mine. The light was intensely orange, but not like a flare or roman candle, roughly roundish in shape, and initially was about the size of a pencil eraser held at arm's length (roughly a quarter-inch in diameter). It initially attracted my attention because it was much brighter than the usual planes and helicopters that fly overhead, and because of the odd color which was unlike the usual air traffic."

The witness described the light's movement.

"The light appeared to arc upwards and towards me before moving parallel eastward, visible above two houses across the street, then gained altitude and disappeared (growing smaller until not visible) at an angle upwards and to the north. It was visible for approximately two minutes, moving at a slow, steady pace. As the light moved eastward, it became more yellow-orange in color (though orange was still the primary color) and seemed to strobe slightly or perhaps flicker like flame."

No images or videos were included with either report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Missouri is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating,
