Two "Relay For Life" teams hold fundraisers this weekend in Bakersfield

The American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" event is well attended and participated in each year here in Bakersfield. In preparation for this year's "2013 Relay For Life Bakersfield" scheduled for May 4, 2013 - many of the teams are holding fundraising events. This weekend, here in Bakersfield, two of the teams are having such events.

They are Team G.E.E.K. with a bazaar and the Team "I Love Lucy" with their annual yard sale. Both events are scheduled for Saturday February 2, 2013.

  • Team G.E.E.K.'s bazaar is held at the Kern County Fair Grounds at 1142 South P Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be over 50 local vendors and raffles for great prizes. Please enter through GATE 26 and proceed to the Fine Arts Building where the fun and festivities will be held.
  • Team "I Love Lucy" has their annual yard sale fundraiser at 9617 Bloomsbury Court from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fundraisers and events leading up the the actual "Relay For Life" all go to help find the cure, provide needed services to those battling with the disease and to provide services for those in recovery. The American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" is a life-changing event. It helps our community come together to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember those who have lost their battles, and to fight back against the disease.

Please help support this effort. Come out and support the teams!
