Two Raiders in Pro Bowl

Punter Shane Lechler and Nnamdi Asomugha will represent the Silver and Black in the Pro Bowl this year. It was widely expected that both players would receive the honor as they are consistently at the top of their positions.

Nnamdi Asomugha only has one interception on the season, but has made such a name for himself that opposing quarterbacks routinely ignore his side of the field. He is a very sure tackler from the corner position, and is widely considered among the elite shutdown corners in the NFL.

This will be Asomugha's third Pro Bowl selection and second appearance. He was selected as a last second alternate in 2006, but was unable to get a last minute flight to Hawaii. He was named a starter on the 2008 team.

Punter Shane Lechler will be making his fifth trip to the Pro Bowl. This selection was a no-brainer as he is on pace to break Sammy Baugh's single season record of highest gross punting average. Even without the record, he is considered among the elite punters in the history of the game, and with his domination of the position would have the tag "future hall of famer" affixed to his name had he played any other position.

Janikowski should be in there too.

I was thinking Jano got screwed. But after looking at it Kaeding deserves it. He too only has three misses but leades the AFC in points scored, and plays for a first place team. Any idea who the alternate is if Kaeding doesn't go?
I think Tyvon Branch got screwed. He is not even an alternate yet he leads the NFL in tackles for Defensive Backs.
I see where Zack Miller is an alternate. He might go. Most likely one of the two named tight ends (Antonio Gates, Dallas Clark)will be playing in the Super Bowl and will skip the pro bowl.
