That nip in the air can only mean that Mountain Creek Golf Course is set to host two polar bear tournaments on the same weekend.
The first is slated for Oct. 19 at the course that’s just west of Arnprior. Men and women players are invited to register for the annual competition.
Tee-times begin at 10:30 a.m. for the four-person teams. Each foursome is allowed to have one professional and two of the players must have a handicap of 11 or higher.
The cost is $500 per group. The fee includes prizes, a chili lunch, a pig roast dinner, two carts per foursome, beer tickets, skins and closest-to- the-hole contests on all par threes.
The second doubles as a thank you for Mountain Creek’s members. It happens on Oct. 20. The cost is $15 for men and $10 for women.
Meanwhile, Mountain Creek’s fall rates are in effect. The fees are $20 to walk and $30 to ride. Twilight rates kick in at noon, with the costs being $14.16 to walk and $25 to ride.
Mountain Creek is an 18-hole championship course that plays to par 70 with three sets of tees. They are 6,217 yards from the blues, 6,021 yards from the whites and 5,405 yards from the reds.
