A man and a woman were found shot to death inside a Cobb County home Wednesday.
The woman has been identified as Ms. Susan Sheriff, 45, and the man, who police said is the shooter, has been identified as Mr. Christopher Kpendema, 49. They are both from Acworth, but police have not provided any details on their relationship.
Neighbors said the two lived in a basement apartment in the two-story brick home, located in the Brookstone community.
Around 1:20 p.m. officers responded to the apartment in the 6200 block of Benbrooke Drive in Acworth after someone called to report a person down, according to Cobb County police. They did not say who made the 911 call.
When officers arrived, they found the twp people dead in the home from apparent gunshot wounds, police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said.
As neighbors looked on, relatives tried to console each other outside a home Wednesday afternoon, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The neighbors said more than just a single family lived in the home.
“It’s like a boarding house, renting rooms out,” Mr. Brett Mendenhall told the paper. “You knew something was going to happen eventually.”
Mr. Mendenhall said numerous cars were often parked in front of the home, which was circled in yellow crime tape Wednesday.
Ms. Michele Parkinson, who lives across the street from the home where the shootings happened, told the AJC she and others had notified the homeowner’s association previously about the amount of activity at the home and vehicles parked on the street.
