Two Ohio natives selected to appear on 'The Ultimate Fighter'

UFC officials on Tuesday announced the cast of the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and two Ohio natives have been selected to appear on the show.

Josh Stansbury, of East Liverpool, and Daniel Spohn, of Columbus, will compete on “TUF 19” as light-heavyweights. The show will debut on April 16 on FOX Sports 1.

"TUF 19" will feature former lightweight champions B.J. Penn and Frankie Edgar as head coaches. The show will also feature 16 middleweights and 16 light-heavyweights competing for a UFC contract.

Stansbury (5-2) is on a current five-fight winning streak. The 29-year-old won the NAAFS light-heavyweight title in his last fight in August.

Spohn (8-3) is a four-fight veteran of Bellator and went 1-3 in the organization. The 29-year-old is currently on a two-fight winning streak.

Other notables selected to appear on the show include former Bellator champ Lyman Good, MFC vet Dhiego Lima and Cage Warriors champ Cathal Pendred.
