Two new Jersey Shore spinoffs to premiere on MTV in 2012

Two new Jersey Shore spinoffs will premiere on MTV in 2012, the network confirmed late this week, featuring three of the reality show's fan favorites. After months of reports that Pauly D has filmed a pilot for his own show and that Snooki and JWoWW were also working on a Jersey Shore spinoff, MTV executives finally spilled the beans confirming the reports and releasing new details about each.

Both Jersey Shore spinoffs have already filmed pilot episodes, but now MTV has ordered a full 12 episodes of each. Both spinoff series will go into full production later this year - presumably after the cast wraps production on Jersey Shore Season 4.  While both are still-untitled they are both expected to premiere on MTV in 2012.  While getting their own shows, Snooki, JWoWW, and Pauly will all still be involved in the original Jersey Shore flagship show if the series continues after the upcoming fourth season.

So why did MTV opt for new projects with Pauly D, JWoWW, and Snooki?  "Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names, as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities,” said Chris Linn, MTV Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Production. “We’re excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships."

The Jersey Shore Examiner can confirm Pauly D's spinoff will focus on this life as a DJ, his inner circle of close friends, and his life on the road as he chases his dream to become one of the top DJs in the world.

Snooki and JWoWW's spinoff will focus on the two reality stars friendship as they move out of their homes and buy a house together.

Coincidently - or perhaps not - the two Jersey Shore spinoffs were announced in the midst of a reported Jersey Shore Season 4 contract hold out by the three castmates who landed the spinoffs and Mike 'The Situation.'  It has been reported that within hours of MTV announcing the new shows were greenlit, the four castmates inked deals for the upcoming season of JS4.
