Among the many live music events this week, May 5-11, in Orlando local music are two music festivals as well as the usual great variety of live shows, including a Motown Tribute show. Make a point to get out and support local music by hitting a show, or three.

In music news, Orlando band ELEVATORS just launched a Kickstarter campaign. They are hoping to raise $1700 by May 22 to record their debut EP. Before donating, music fans can check out their newly released single on their Bandcamp, which will be on the EP.

On Friday at Will’s Pub is a Stevie Wonder and Motown Records Tribute show featuring live music by The Gerry Williams Band as well as DJ BMF spinning Motown classics. The doors open at 9 p.m. and there is a $7 cover charge for this 18+ show.

Saturday, May 10 brings two music festivals to Orlando. Smashington will be at the Discount Music Center and Reggae on the Block will be at Washington Square in downtown Orlando. Both single-day music festivals will feature music on multiple stages for fans to enjoy.

Monday, May 5

Wall Street Plaza - 19 N. Orange Ave. - The Cinco de Mayo block party celebrations culminate with Cinco de Mayo, featuring live music from The Lighter Exchange at (9 p.m.), a mariachi band, bull riding and drink specials starting at 4 p.m.

The Social - 54 North Orange Ave. - Live music from Houndmouth and Clear Plastic Masks for this show. The doors open at 8 p.m.

Tanqueray’s - 100 S. Orange Ave. - Live music from Control This! at 10 p.m.

BB Kings Blues Club - 9101 International Dr. - Live music from Rico Monaco Band at 8 p.m.

West End Trading Company - 202 S. Sanford Ave. (Sanford) - RPR presents open mic hosted by Steve Patterson at 8 p.m. This FREE event is 18+.

Tuesday, May 6

The Red Lion Pub - 3784 Howell Branch Road - Twisted Tuesday with We’re All Gonna Die for this 18+ show. This FREE event includes live music and other entertainment as well as a home-cooked meal, with a $2 donation to the Red Lion Community Emergency Fund. The live music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Will’s Pub - 1042 N. Mills Ave. - A night of solo acoustic performances from Justin Wells (Fifth on the Floor), Butch Wisdom (Six Time Losers), Neil Alday, Weston Williams and Logan Dressel for this show. The doors open at 8 p.m. the music starts at 8:30 p.m. and there is a $5 cover charge.

Lil’ Indies - 1036 N. Mills Ave. - Live music from Kaleigh Baker at 10 p.m. for this FREE 21+ show.

Bombshell’s Tavern - 5405 Edgewater Dr. - Every Tuesday night is Ladies Night at Bombshell’s featuring a live performance from DJ Commons and Andrew Maff. The fun starts at 9 p.m.

BackBooth - 37 W. Pine St. - Live music from The Underachievers, Eyes of the World Tour, Denzel Curry and Dillon Cooper for this show. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.

The Hammered Lamb - 1235 N. Orange Ave. - Birthday jam with Rob Herbert starting at 8 p.m. Open to any and everyone, come out and sit in on stage, or just come hang out and have a drink. This will hopefully be a chance for musicians from different circles to share a stage.
