What do a seven year old Yellow Lab and a nine year old Miniature Dachshund have in common?
They both became Love Dogs last night.
Tucker the Lab did a beautiful job throughout his test. His favorite part was definitely being cuddled and petted by several people at once and he truly enjoyed the restraining hug! The closer the better for this loving dog.
He had a very solid Skills segment and when it came to the Aptitude components, he was so happy. No problem with the unsteady petting or multiple handling or tight hold. No problem being brushes or maneuvering around obstacles and people.
Cedar the mini Doxie enjoyed being carried and cuddled by her owner. Since she is so small she is able to work being carried and she thought that was a fine idea. But she did show us she can walk on a loose leash on the group when required to. And she sis her obedience behaviors from a distance. She likes being held up high so she is eye level with people. This little dog does not want to be under everyone else!
Both Tucker and Cedar’s handlers will start thinking about where they want to work and what environment and population will be most suitable for both ends of the leash.
Congratulations to both teams and we all look forward to working by your side.
