Two men robbed a Cobb County restaurant Sunday morning after forcing an employee into a cooler at gunpoint.

On Monday police were still searching for the suspects who were wearing ski masks and armed with semiautomatic handguns.

The armed robbery happened around 7:30 a.m. at Common Quarter Restaurant at 1205 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, according to Cobb County police.

Investigators said the men entered the back door of the restaurant and at first forced the employee into the office where the safe was located.

“The employee, unable to open the safe, was forced into the cooler while the perpetrators took the safe and then exited the business in an unknown direction,” police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said.

Both suspects were black men. One was 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighed between 180 to 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing green cargo work pants, a navy blue jacket and work gloves.

The second suspect was 5 feet, 11 inch tall and weighed about 200 pounds. He was also wearing work gloves, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Cobb County police at (770) 499-3945.
