Days after two men and a woman from Louisiana attended a funeral in Columbia and left for home, they disappeared.
And now Columbia police are seeking the public’s help in finding them.
The three residents of Shreveport, LA - Mr. Brady Brown, 49, his uncle Mr. Eddie Lee Cobb, Jr., 68 and family friend Ms. Ella Williams, 52 - left Columbia on Jan. 7 for the 12-hour drive home after the funeral on Jan. 4, Columbia police said Thursday.
Family members told officers Mr. Brown and his passengers planned to drive the several hundred miles home on I-20. And they left in a 2006 beige Dodge Status with paper tags.
But they never arrived, police said.
“Relatives haven’t heard from or seen them since,” police spokeswoman Ms. Jennifer Timmons said. “Repeated calls made by family members go straight to voice mail.”
The last known communication is believed to have been made from a cell phone belonging to one of the three near Birmingham, Ala. on Jan.7, police said.
One of Mr. Brown’s relative reported all three of them missing.
Investigators have also received information that Ms. Williams may be in need of medications.
Officers with the department’s Special Victims Unit have contacted law enforcement agencies in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, Ms. Timmons said.
The State Law Enforcement Division is also assisting in this investigation, she said.
