In the state of Maryland, two explosions at two different locations took place at state buildings. One injury has been reported. Some sort of packages sent via mail seem to be the source.
The first explosion took place at the Jeffery Building in Annapolis. The second blast, in Hanover, took place at the Maryland Department of Transportation according to officials.
"The packages, which both emitted a small bang or flame, were probably sent through the mail, an official said."
Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley's spokesman informed local media that cabinet secretaries had been ordered to close mail room operations while these incidents are being investigate.
Annapolis Fire Department's bomb squad is investigating the incident along with state emergency crews.
Annapolis is home to the US Naval Academy.
