Two juveniles are wanted in the shooting of a 22-year-old man who was attacked while he was walking with a woman from a bus stop in southwest Atlanta early Monday morning.
Police have not yet determined the identities of the suspects or the motive for the shooting. But Mr. Antonio Calhoun may still be alive because the shooter’s gun jammed.
At 12:09 a.m. officers responded to a person shot call at 2012 Fairburn Road, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said.
Mr. Calhoun told police that he was walking with a woman from the bus stop on Fairburn Road when two juveniles jumped out of the bushes as he got to 2010 Fairburn Road.
“Mr. Calhoun advised that the suspects did not say anything to him or try to take anything from him but just pointed a gun at him and fired several times,” Officer Jones said. “Mr. Calhoun advised that the gun jammed while the suspect was shooting.”
After the gun jammed the juveniles ran to a dark colored Dodge caravan and left the area, Mr. Calhoun told police.
Mr. Calhoun was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with a grazed gunshot wound to the head and a gunshot wound to the left thigh, Officer Jones said. He was in stable condition at the hospital, she said.
