It is the bye week for the Oakland Raiders and they are not sitting completely idle. They are making the most of their time off by sending two Hall of Famers and current coaches out to meet fans and sign autographs.
The two Hall of Fame Raider legends are current defensive assistant coach Willie Brown and current cornerbacks coach Rod Woodson. Both of whom played in Super Bowls in Silver and Black on their way to a Hall of Fame career.
Willie Brown was a 9 time Pro Bowler and 5 time All Pro while a member of the Broncos and Raiders He joined the Raiders in 1967 and immediately went to 7 straight Pro Bowls from 1967 to 1973. He played cornerback his entire 16 year career—the final 12 in Silver and Black. He had the famous “Old Man Willie” interception returned for a touchdown to help the Raiders win their first Super Bowl. He has been on the Raiders coaching staff since 1995.
Rod Woodson was an 11 time Pro Bowler and 9 time All Pro while a member of the Steelers, Ravens, and Raiders. He played cornerback through much of his career with the Steelers before switching to safety as a member of the Ravens and later the Raiders. He won a Super Bowl after a Pro Bowl year in 2000 while with the Ravens. His final All Pro selection was 2002 when he helped lead the Raider defense to Super Bowl XXXVII. He joined the Raiders this past offseason as their cornerbacks coach.
The signing will take place at the Raider Image on Universal City Walk on Saturday, October 28 from 1pm to 3pm.
Get there early as there will be a line. These two Raider Legends and current coaches are sure to be popular gets for autograph seekers and those looking to get a rare chance to meet two Hall of Famers and Raider coaches.
