Leonardo DiCaprio, who won the Best Actor award at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards for his role in The Wolf of Wall Street and Matthew McConaughey was also in that film but won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for Dallas, have both been unnerved in the past by the presence of ghosts.
In an interview with ITV, DiCaprio said he believed his house was haunted. The famous actor said strange things were happening.
“My home makes weird noises at times and I have to get up in the middle of the night and check if there's somebody breaking in,” he said. “I don't know, it's like creaking or something, it's weird ghost noises but I don't believe in ghosts so it's like the wind or the way it was built.”
Although he discounted the noises as natural events he added, “I was truly terrified.”
Matthew McConaughey, best known for his comedic role in a number of movies including How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past was apparently “freaked out” when he saw a ghost in his 1960’s era home.
“When I first moved in there, I had a tent and I put it up on the floor of the upstairs bedroom with my sleeping bag and my dog.”
That first night, McConaughey said he heard a number of strange sounds including a bass instrument, coyotes, wood moving and most startling of all, “a sound like a dime dropping from 10 feet off the ground onto a glass table.”
But that’s not all. He quickly realized he had an invisible housemate that he affectionately named “Madame Blue.”
McConaughey said he left his tent and ran “buck naked” with a bat in hand to investigate the noises. When he got downstairs, he said nothing was there but he knew who was responsible.
Over time McConaughey and the old lady named Madame Blue have learned to live together in harmony, he said.
“She has no qualms with me - we get along just fine. She's a cool ghost. Maybe me being nude all the time is (the reason) why we get along!”
