Police are requesting help from the public in identifying two female suspects who used counterfeit bills at Old Hickory Mall in Jackson last month, according to a Tuesday afternoon news release from the Jackson Police Department.

The release said the fake $100 bills were used at Macy's and Belk on March 27. The anchor stores are located at opposite ends of the Old Hickory Mall, which is located at 2021 N. Highland Ave.

According to a police report, Belk loss prevention personnel reported that an unidentified black female suspect made two separate purchases, using $100 bills, which were later discovered to be fake.

A second unidentified black female suspect also tried to make a purchase with a $100 bill at Belk. But that bill was recognized instantly as being fake and the cahier declined to let the suspect make the purchase.

The report said the second female suspect then went to Macy’s and used a fake $100 bill to purchase a $20.00 gift card.

Police are asking that anyone with information on the identities and/or whereabouts of the two suspects contact the Jackson Police Department at 731-425-8400 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 731-424-8477.
