This Saturday, Sept. 21, there will be two family fun events in Burleson if the weather permits
The Burleson Trash Bash runs from 9-11 a.m. The objective of the Bash is primarily to rid Burleson of debris the primary focus will be the retail sector and drainage ditches although other areas will be cleaned. Participants should have called to be given a designated area to pick up. After the cleanup volunteers will meet at Warren Park 301 SW Johnson Ave. for a complimentary lunch. This annual cleanup is sponsored jointly by the City of Burleson and Keep Burleson Beautiful.
If you enjoy more of a physical event there will also be a free Burleson Family Fun Day at School Centennial High School stadium (instead of Kerr Middle School) from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month and it has been reported that one third of the children within Johnson County are obese. The focus of the day is to get children active and moving and thus improve their health. There will be a variety of activities for children five and up. The school with the highest number of children attending will have the honor of being named Field Day champions.
Family Field Day is jointly promoted by Texas Health Huguley, Burleson Be Healthy Initiative and H-E-B Burleson.
