The Ottawa-Gatineau GolfExpo, the largest golf show in Eastern Canada, is about to show national capital players what’s new and cool for the 2014 season.

Presented by the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada, the expo runs from March 8-9 in the Ernst and Young Centre at 4899 Uplands Dr.

Anxious golfers can explore the array of new technology, products and golf packages from local, national and international destinations on the 90,000 sq.-ft. of floor space, which is more than five hockey rinks full of everything golf.

With paid admission all buyers receive a ballot for the Golf Expo Jackpot prize. It consists of more than $5,000 in great stuff and includes a Golfstream travel trip for two to British Columbia, Nike equipment and accessories, green fees to local courses, Ottawa Senators tickets and more. Two additional entries for the draw will go to everyone who fills out an exit survey.

The Golf Town Demo Range will have golfers test-driving the latest equipment from Adams, Callaway, Cobra Puma, Nike and TaylorMade. Have your swing analyzed and get free tips by professionals from Mont Cascades throughout the weekend at the Indoor Instructional Range.

Golfers can try their talents at The Long Putt Challenge, Closest to the Pin Competition or Tame the Beast at the brand new GolfZilla Challenge. Synlawn Canada, with awards from across North America, will be on hand to construct a putting green.

The Eastern Ontario Golfer’s Red Book is offering up its best deal ever. This year’s price is $20 off each discount coupon book purchased at the show.

The first 50 juniors to visit the expo on both days will receive a free treat – from golf bags to golf balls and lots of other surprises. In addition, there is a 5,000 sq.-ft. Kids’ Zone that involves instruction, games and competitions for youngsters from the folks at the Golf Association of Ontario. Special guests from the Senators will also attend with Top Shot and Hardest Shot competitions and the expo’s very own mini rink. Show-goers will even meet team mascot Spartacat when he greets them during a special appearance on Saturday.

The GolfExpo’s silent auction features trips, equipment, entertainment packages, signed Ottawa Senators jerseys and more. And the event’s retailers will be on hand offering go-low deals on equipment, accessories and apparel.

The Seminar Stage stars Kevin Haime – golf instruction guru and local radio personality; Todd Keirstead – trick shot artist and master entertainer; and Scott McLeod – golf equipment aficionado.
