Two Crandall men arrested for endangering child and resisting arrest

Crandall, Texas- On December 19, 2011, Kaufman County Deputies had to deal with two combative brothers who had taken a three-year-old child without its mother’s permission. The child was taken at about 1 p.m. from a residence in the 8000 block of Kelton Dr.

The mother of the child called deputies about the incident and told them that her two brothers were with the child and had left on foot heading towards FM 148. According to KCSO Spokesperson Pat Laney, “Deputies quickly located both suspects and tried to approach the subjects, asking them to release the child into their custody. The suspects became extremely combative and deputies, along with officers from Crandall and Kaufman County Constables had to physically restrain both in order to get the child to safety. The child was returned to the residence without harm.”

Jorge Manuel Diaz, 19, of Crandall and Miguel Diaz, 17, of Crandall, were arrested and charged with resisting arrest, assault on a public servant, and endangering a child. Jorge Diaz was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting a prohibited substance into a correctional facility.
