It was the summer of 2008 and Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash was on “fire”. It had to have been a 6 hour concert where all the artist gave their best performance to please the crowd, Keri Hilson, Gucci Maine, Nikki Minaj, Young Jezzy, Mary J. Blige, Little Wayne and Playaz Circle. Playaz Circle was one of the last groups to go on stage. It appeared that the audience stood to their feet when the group performed their hit single “Duffle Bag Boy".
Five years later, Playaz Cirlce continues to rock the crowd. As one half of Playaz Circle, Two Chainz has taken an initiative to take the group to the next level, he is now up for 3 Grammy Nominations.
“Waiting on This Moment” since he signed with “Disturbing Tha Peace” in the early 90’s…His hard work is now paying off.
Since the debut of his solo album: TRU Realigion, he has been making it happen, not taking “NO” for an answer, he has facilitated his own solo sale out tour, nominated for 13 BET Hip Hop Award, winning 4 of them; earned the Source Magazine “Man of the Year “; has signed endorsement deals with ADIDAS, Beats By Dre.
At Two Chainz Grammy Nomination VIP Black and Gold Reception in which I attended, he, TRU label artist and the Street Execs celebrated like classy GoodFellas. In all Black suits uniformly worn with gold ties. They conducted themselves like business men, very quiet and professional but welcoming. Two Chainz stated to an MTV journalist that he felt "blessed" to just have been nominated. With that type of of positive attitude, how can you lose?
Other celebrities that were in the building were, MMG's Wale, Kandi Buruss, Streetz 94.5 Radio Host Rashan Ali.
It was a great spirit in the building, It was a “TRU” celebration. I think this might just be the moment he has been waiting for…
