Two brothers battle in first trailer to Exodus: Gods and Kings

The Biblical films are certainly making an impression this year. With films like Son of God and Noah, this genre of movies has already made its presence known in the year of 2014. However the cinematic renditions of the bible is far from overr as coming this December is the latest adaption to story of Moses and the Israelites: Exodus: Gods and Kings. This upcoming biblical epic will be directed by none other then Ridley Scott, the man behind Gladiator and Alien.Yesterday, Fox released the first set of posters for the film; signifying that the trailer was on its way. Sure enough, the first trailer to Exodus is now online, and will likely be attached with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (which hits theaters this weekend).

Seeing that this is the film's first trailer, it was bound to be short. Not to disappoint, the first preview to Gods and Kings falls under the category of a teaser. The trailer to this biblical is very brief as it captures the bond between Moses (Christian Bale) and Rhamses (Joel Edgerton). While the trailer is not lengthy, it does manage to get its point across. This new interpretation of the classic tale shows moviegoers that the story of Moses may be very different from past renditions. The trailer shows that both Moses and Rhamses are warriors in their own right; and the trailer plays with the idea that the Princes of Egypt will be going to war with each other. While this may sound like a detraction from the story of Exodus, the final moments of the trailer show that this film may be a closer interpretation then it looks. The final part of the preview features the plagues coming to Egypt, and the movie magic is in full gear showing off the wrath of God. Needless to say, if this trailer is any indication, moviegoers should expect to see a different kind of biblical story, but still one that does not forget about the tale behind Exodus.

What do you think of the trailer? Are you excited to see Ridley Scott's Biblical Epic? Express your opinion in the comments below. Exodus: Gods and Kings hits theaters on December 12th.
