Love was in the air for two former 'Boy Meets World' stars this weekend. According to a People report dated Monday, October 21, Danielle Fishel (Topanga) and Rider Strong (Shawn) tied the knot this weekend.....but not with each other. On Saturday, Fishel said 'I do' to Tim Belusko, 25, in Los Angelos. Rider Strong exchanged vows on Sunday with Alexandra Barreto, 31, in Oregon.
With two weddings in two separate locations this weekend, it is understandable that fellow cast members couldn't attend both celebrations.
"I am missing some of my Boy Meets World family," Strong told PEOPLE in a statement before his Sunday ceremony. "That was my fault, [Danielle] chose the date first."
Though Strong played Savage's on screen best friend for the 'Boy Meets World' run, television's Cory Matthews chose to attend his on screen wife's wedding. He was among the 200 guests that came for her nuptials. Fishel wore a lace Enzoani strapless gown, and her father Rick Fishel walked her down the aisle to the song "Forever," by Brian Culbertson.
"The most important thing is that the day feels authentic to us," Fishel recently told PEOPLE. "We're traditional, but also a bit wacky!"
Strong and Barreto met when they were costars on the series Pepper Dennis in 2006. Their wedding was uniquely camp-themed, containing ropes course, games, and a talent show. If that isn't different enough....the wedding party even slept in bunks at the Oregon campsite. Strong popped the question to Baretto before Christmas last year on his childhome home property in Northern California. The pair was in the pouring rain under the redwood trees when she said "yes." He presented her with a ring that he crafted himself.
In case you haven't heard, a 'Boy Meets World' sequel is on the way. 'Girl Meets World' will begin airing on the Disney channel in 2014. Fishel and Savage will return as Cory and Topanga. The once teenage couple will now play the roles of married adults with a 13 year old daughter, and a son. Though details are slow to emerge, we do know that the spin-off is happening, and that Cory is now a teacher at his daughter's school. The rumor mill is also suggesting that Strong might be added to the cast.
