Tomorrow is the day that Irish dog lovers everywhere look forward to each year: The annual Irish Parade in Naperville. This year’s weather will not prove nearly as cooperative as last year’s 80 degrees was, but together the Two Bostons’ dog lovers will have fun!
Once the parade ends, the Two Bostons’ crew is invited back to the Downtown Jefferson Street Store for more fun and games. This event is enjoyable each and every year and the Tesenes are looking forward to seeing you there!
Two Bostons has a dog costume and is seeking one of its loyal followers to wear it in the parade; inviting that one special person to step in and represent! Two Bostons wants to know “Are you DOG enough to walk the parade as a giant dog?” If so, please bring a companion to hold your dog’s leash since the costume’s paws are a bit awkward and let’s face it, a dog walking a dog? That seems a bit hinky, don’t you think? Regardless, if you would be interested in being the top dog of Two Bostons, email them at newsletter@twobostons.com and Andy and AdreAnne will be happy to coordinate for you!
Remember that the Parade route starts at Naperville North High School; South Parking Lot. Keep in mind that parking will be limited and that you can only access the lot off from Mill Street since the Ogden entry point will be closed. Your best bet is to have one person in your party drop you off and then go off and park on the northeast corner of the school.
Two Bostons will be in position #66. Be there between 9:15 and 9:30 as the Parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. You will also want to have time to don the bandannas, temporary tattoos and necklaces that Two Bostons will have for their fans. Make sure to wear green so that you fit in with the holiday theme.
If you would like to enter the annual costume contest, feel free to dress appropriately so that you have an opportunity to win. Two Bostons will have prizes for the best dressed dog/owner combo.
The City of Naperville no longer allows for the Parade participants to throw candy into the crowds on the Parade route, but handing it out is still okay. So if you would like to hand out some candy, feel free to do so. Also, make certain that you bring your dog on a standard leash as no one wants an accident during this fun family event!
Hope you are able to attend! Slainte!
