Two icons in the world of Lolita fashion, Masumi Kano and Akinori Isobe, will be appearing at a convention in Chicago this upcoming summer.
Isobe, President of the "Baby The Stars Shine Bright" fashion brand, founded the company along with his wife Fumiyo in 1988 in the busy district of Shibuya in Tokyo.
Kano is a leading designer of BABY brand Lolita fashion who has been making convention appearances around the world in the past few years.
Lolita fashion has been growing in popularity as anime conventions and Japanese culture have been growing in popularity across America. Girls interested in this unique Japanese cultural aspect dress up in some of the most frilly dresses possible, attend tea parties, and talk about their wardrobes.
The two will be attending a convention called Anime Midwest, which happens July 4-6, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare and the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. They will be hosting a tea party, and for $40 fans can take part in this rare meet and greet opportunity.
They will also be coordinating a Lolita fashion show, showing off their latest and newest designs. Anyone attending the convention can see this show for free.
