Nothing beats summertime in San Diego. We’ve got the great weather, miles of beaches, and some of the biggest events of the year. But it’s also a great time for music, as summer shows are in full swing and San Diego is a popular destination. On June 1st, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, the Two 77 Retreat will be hosting a retreat event with massages, food, and two incredible up and coming artists.

Opening up will be Barbarian, a local San Diego band whose debut EP released last year. Since then, they have toured with Bat for Lashes and just recently recorded their first full length LP. Their music has gained many positive reviews from outlets such as NME Magazine, Impose, and Pure Volume/ Macbeth.

"Crafting a unique blend of '60s garage-rock and psychedelia, refreshing and innovative yet catchy and relevant." - PureVolume/Macbeth

Headlining the retreat is up and coming indie electro-soul group, Caught a Ghost. Based in LA, the band is headed by drummer Stephen Edelstein, singer/songwriter/producer Jesse Nolan and actress/ singer Tessa Thompson (Veronica Mars, Dear White People). Despite just releasing their first full-length album in April, Caught a Ghost songs can be heard on many television shows such as Vampire Diaries, Boardwalk Empire, and most recently a sultry cover of “Like a Virgin” on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

“…Caught A Ghost has somehow carved out a niche and a stage presence that’s truly their own.” - LocalBozo

Catch these artists June 1st at the Two 77 Retreat.
