Thanks to Twitter user Kerri Ann Nesbeth being on the scene during the Saturday night Times Square shooting there are now photos online at various news agencies detailing some of the activity that night, including the aftermath of one woman having been shot by police during the incident, according to this CNN report on Sept. 15.
Nesbeth first expressed what she was seeing via her Twitter account at 6:41 p.m., sending this message to CNN and her 357 followers on the social media site.
Omg just witnessed NYPD gun down a pedestrian in Times Square."
The on-the-scene witness went on to say right afterward that "Man hit by taxi trying to leave scene NYPD would not let him leave," and she then tweeted that police "shot at him 4 times."
Tweets followed, like "This cannot be happening in front of me @CNN," and then another "OMG," as she witnessed more. And that was followed by her description of the scene in the aftermath, which was "Pure chaos," she tweeted.
According to CNN, Kerri Ann Nesbeth told them that, "The guy was in the middle of the street in oncoming traffic and the cops were trying to get him out of the road," when the shootings occurred.
The two women shot in the crossfire were both taken to a nearby hospital, and they suffered only grazing wounds, fortunately. The man was taken into police custody after they used a taser on him to subdue him.
