Twitter to introduce services in Hindi language

Twitter will soon be launching its services in Hindi language in India. The company, in a blog, has said that they would be starting their services in Hindi, traditional Chinese, Malay and Filipino in the upcoming weeks.

After the introduction of these new languages, Twitter will be supporting 17 different languages in total . Twitter has many users in India and has 100 million active users worldwide.

On the other hand, social networking site Facebook already offers its services in Hindi and five other Indian languages which include, Tamil, Punjabi, Telugu, Malayalam and Bengali. Overall Facebook has 200 million registered users worldwide.

One of the blog post of Twitter said that 40 percent of the active users in the micro blogging site only login to their account to known what is happening in the world.

Twitter users also include some of the global heads of the state like Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner of Argentina, Julia Gillard of Australia. It also includes some of the world personalities like the Pope and Dalai Lama.
