Next-Gen consoles are loaded with a plethora of features other than simply playing video games and Gamescom 2013 is turning out to be a great place to show them off. During the afternoon of the big video game event in Germany Sony and Twitch announced a partnership which will make Twitch available on the PS4. Microsoft had already revealed the availability of Twitch on the Xbox One and on the Ouya as well, so the inclusion of streaming services like Twitch aren't going to sway anyone in their Next-gen console purchasing decision.
Twitch has been a rapidly growing and successful business which allows gamers to broadcast they’re gameplay through live streams online. The growing popularity of the streaming service has made Twitch the go-to site for video game streams and the big name consoles have noticed. PlayStation fans were asking for the integration of Twitch on the PS4 and it has finally been announced that it will be.
The service will be available on the console in the fall. To stream your gameplay on the PS4 all gamers will need to do is press the new ‘Share’ button on the DualShock 4 wireless controller. Broadcasting to your Twitch channel has never been so easy.
There will also be a viewing app available on the PS4 so users can catch all their favorite broadcasts and spectate other players gameplay. The addition of Twitch to the PS4 has taken one advantage the Xbox One had over the PS4 away. To see the announcement visit the Twitch blog.
