Fans were looking forward to seeing "Twisted" season 2. Unfortunately it looks like one season is all that viewers are going to get. On Aug. 13, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that ABC has cancelled the series.
While other ABC shows have been revealing small spoilers for the upcoming seasons, there hasn't been any news on "Twisted." Even though it was a great show with a lot of mystery and suspense, the ratings never did pick up. The debut only registered just over 1.1 million viewers. By the end of its 19 episodes, the numbers dropped to just barely 800,000.
The show focused on 16-year-old Danny Desai, played by Avan Jogia, who was charged and arrested in the murder of his aunt when he was just a child. When he was released as a teenager, he went back to his hometown and did not receive a warm welcome. His two childhood friends, Jo Masterson (Maddie Hasson) and Lacey Porter (Kylie Bunbury) eventually eased him back into their lives.
By the end of "Twisted" season 1, fans learned that it wasn't Danny that killed his aunt. It was his father, who convinced his own son to take the blame.
It was recently reported that Jogia was cast in Spike TV's "Tut" miniseries. This should have been a sign that the actor was looking for other gigs. However, there are some actors that work on two shows at once, like "Days of Our Lives" and "Real Housewives" cast member Eileen Davidson. Looks like working two jobs isn't going to be the case for Jogia.
ABC Family has renewed other shows. Fans can look forward to "Switched at Birth" season 4 and "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 and 7. There will also be more of "The Fosters," "Chasing Life," "Melissa & Joey," "Young & Hungry," "Baby Daddy" and "Mystery Girls." There will also be several pilots that might be picked up. These include "Recovery Road," Stitchers" and "Unstrung."
