Dynasty-“a powerful group or family that maintains its position for a considerable time”
This word has been lost in sports lexicon as they are so rare in modern athletics.
The Royals are an exception to this trend.
You entered your home tournament as perennial favorites in winning it after claiming the title the past four seasons (TBC).
You were armed with a couple of new players whose talent made an immediate impact.
Your round robin play allowed you once again to claim top spot.
The defense, always has been, and will continue to be your nucleus. It allowed you to be in every contest up all the way to the Finals.
The result was an anomaly. There will always be a game of this nature at some point. Your success in seasons past has put you all in this position time and again.
What has changed is the quality of your opposition.
CSL is feeling good about them-selves at the moment. Their confidence is well deserved and I commend them for their effort.
What I absolutely LOVE are my Royals. This team, with minimal changes has obtained a semi-final placing in every tournament played since 2007.
Your results are unparalleled. You have achieved your success in every way imaginable capturing the hearts of local fans across the West Island.
I wish our adversaries good luck in obtaining ¼ of our success.
Til we meet again,
Have fun, stay young, drink lots of beer, and speak highly of me!
