Twins born in separate years will have two different birthdays

According to ABC News on Jan. 1, twins were born in separate months and separate years to two different mothers.

The Begazo Twins in Washington, D.C.
On Dec. 31, 2013, at 11:58 p.m., Yaleni Santos Tohalino gave birth to baby girl Lorraine Yaleni Begazo, who weighed at 6 pounds, 4.9 ounces, at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.

On Jan. 1, 2014, at 12:01 a.m., Brandon Ferdinando Begazo was born weighing 5 pounds, 10.4 ounces.

The Salgueiro Twins in Toronto
On Dec. 31, 2013 at 11:52 p.m. Linsay Salgueiro gave birth to Gabriela Salgueiro at Trillium Health Partners Credit Valley Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces.

The younger twin, Sophia Salgueiro was born just 38 seconds after midnight on Jan. 1, 2014, at 12:00:38 a.m., weighing 5 pounds, 10 ounces.

The twins' mother told ABC:

“They kind of got that golden ticket. They’ve got different birthdays. They’re going to be best friends for life.”

Both the mothers and babies are healthy and looking forward to going home.

Congratulations to both mothers and their twins.
