Twin Falls Parks & Recreation and local area business' presents Cabin Fever Day

Are you experiencing symptoms such as irritability, a think waist, feelings of boredom, laziness, and restlessness? You may be experiencing cabin fever! Cabin Fever was first discovered in the late 1800’s when it became apparent to doctors that people of all ages were becoming a little strange after extended periods of inactivity (view the video above to see how cabin fever effects your mind). Twin Falls Parks and Recreation has teamed up with local businesses to give children of all ages a chance to try their hand's at something new. All activities are free of charge! This is a great way to get active and see what activity or facility is the right one for you.

Open Swim

Iceberg Invasion is like nothing else in the Magic Valley. The Iceberg allows patrons to climb 14ft and slide all the way to the bottom. All patrons must know how to swim. Patrons under 16 must be able to pass a swim test. Free admission during the hours of 12pm-5pm

CSI Horticulture

Take the opportunity to cultivate some of those overgrown houseplants or start some perennials for next spring. Learn how at the CSI Horticulture program greenhouse (west campus) when you stop by for one of our four Saturday sessions. Session One: 8am-9am, Session Two: 9:30 am-10:30 am, Session Three: 11am-12pm and Session Four: 1pm-2pm

TF Creative Arts Center

Twin Falls Creative Arts Center is a fun art environment for the entire family. There are art classes for ages 2- adult. Come to the Twin Falls Creative Arts Center between 4-5pm for a FREE make and take art project that will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. Open to all ages and fun for the entire family. Space is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.

The Herrett Center

The Herrett Center will be offering three activites to appeal to all audiences.

  • At 11:30am & 12:30pm, the planetarium will be presenting a “live sky tour” as well as a sneak peak of a few of our brand new fulldome video shows.
  • Our observatory will be open for viewing through the telescope from 11am to 2pm (weather permitting).
  • For those who prefer more “earthly” activities, we will be offering a “reptile meet and greet” from 11am to 2pm.

Learn Board Breaking to build focus, self control, courage and confidence and then work on your quickness and teamwork with “Noodle Samurai” It is a lot of fun. Everybody has fun....and no one will get hurt. We do both activities in both sessions. Session One: All Ages from 9am-10am Session Two: All Ages from 1pm-2pm

Races and games are all a part of the fun during this session of roller skating for all ages. There will be FREE roller skating rentals. Roller blade or speed skating rental is $2. FREE admission to the first 50 skaters. Personal skates must be approved for our surfaces before use. Must ask for “Special to get in FREE”. Saturday evening from 7pm-10:30pm

Class & Session sizes may be limited. Participants will be on a first come first served basis. You may need to choose an alternative activity if the session is full.
