The astronomically powerful "Twilight" series doesn't have a video game attached to its host of characters and environments, something analsysts say is costing the franchise millions.
Games Investor Consulting analyst Nick Gibson, speaking with MCV, said a Twilight-themed video game would have gone on to push seven figures or more.
“Given how hot a property it is, [a Twilight video game] could easily present a seven-figure exploitation opportunity, especially if publishers consider taking it beyond retail gaming and considers network gaming.”
“It may well be that the rights holders aren’t aware of the potential benefits because they haven’t explored the games market before.”
The only Twilight video game product on the market today is the Scene It? spinoff, but that's not a true Edward, Bella and Jacob game, now is it?
With the second Twilight film hitting DVD next week and a third installment coming to theaters this summer, this year seems as ripe as ever to cash in on the series and develop a video game for Wii and DS perhaps.
