Twilight tango: DWTS' Aaron Carter back-pedals Robert Pattinson vampire diss

As Dancing with the Stars goes into "Results Night" tonight, Aaron Carter may have nailed his own coffin when he brushed off last week's comparison to Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson.

The brother of former Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter, caught some backlash from Twilight fans last week when he didn't faint upon being compared to R.Patz.

Post-tango with partner Karina Smirnoff, judge Bruno Tonioli applauded Carter's performance and said, "It was a little like watching Robert Pattinson tangoing in Twilight!"

Carter's response? "I'm not personally into vampires." So not only did Carter brush off Twilight fans and their "Robsession", he confessed the worst when he said, "I've never actually seen Twilight."

Scroll forward and one not-so-thrilling performance later and Aaron Carter was eating his own words to salvage possible votes from voting fans.

Carter tweeted on his Twitter page last night, "I DIDN'T MEAN TO OFFEND ANY TWILIGHT FANS, I'M FLATTERED THAT I WAS COMPARED TO ROB PATTINSON. IN FACT, IM GOING TO RENT THE MOVIE 2NIGHT :)"

But Robert Pattinson fans were quick to come to his Twitter's side, responding to the star just two hours later to let him know it was OK.

"What you said wasn't an insult," tweeted @RobPatzEveryDay, "Don't worry about it! Good luck this week! <3"

Carter, who showed up 20 minutes early for rehearsals this week to get an edge on the competition, has been fierce with his happy feet. One of the few competitors not complaining of bumps and bruises or aches and pains, but his history helps him with the intensity on the dance floor.

Carter has long been in the eyes of the public, taking his transformation from a young boy to dancing man, but has always been active in sports ranging from water sports, soccer, golf and motocross bike racing. An active gym rat, Carter has been a huge fan of resistance training and weightlifting since 14 years old and in recent years has packed on 20 LBS of muscle.
