The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2's cast and filmmaker panel at Hall H on Thursday will be a more somber occasion than anyone could've expected, following the tragic loss of Twilight fan Gisela G. today outside of the San Diego Comic-Con convention center.
Twilight Saga film studio Summit Entertainment at Lionsgate has now issued its statement on the matter, promising that Gisela will indeed be remembered during the Breaking Dawn - Part 2 panel.
Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident during the hours leading up to this year’s convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and friends. She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H.
Several castmates from the Twilight Saga tweeted their respects for the fallen Twilight sister on Twitter today as well.
Erik Odom (Peter) wrote, "this is awful. My heart goes out to her family." Nikki Reed (Rosalie) added, "This is horrible. So sad. I'm speechless." Charlie Bewley (Demetri) responded to say, "So saddened to hear the new[s] coming out of Comic Con. Really really sad." Judi Shekoni (Zafrina), Tracey Heggins (Senna), MyAnna Buring (Tanya), Guri Weinberg (Stefan), Janelle Froehlich (Yvette), Christian Serratos (Angela), Marisa Quinn (Huilen), Toni Trucks (Mary), and Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) all chimed in with their condolences on the social network.
To pay respects, Twilight fans trended the terms #RIPTwiFanG and #FandomisFamily today, and several groups are organizing individual efforts to memorialize Gisela on Thursday, such as wearing black ribbons in her honor and petitioning for a moment of silence before the panel. A fundraiser has also been created in her honor to aide her family with funeral expenses.
Gisela was reportedly fifty-three years old.
