Twilight New Moon star Taylor Lautner appeared on The Regis and Kelly Show this morning.
Screams of delight rang out as he walked on stage. The audience was filled with devoted Twi-hards due to the Twilight contest Regis and Kelly had held earlier this month.
The star has been publicly linked to another high profile celebrity Taylor Swift. In New Moon Lautner plays reprises his role as a werewolf named Jacob Black. Jacob falls in love with Bella, and thus a "love triangle" begins between his character Kristen Stewart's, and Robert Pattinson.
Lautner age 17, first came to California with his family and began acting at age 10. One of his first roles was in the movie “Shark Boy and Lava girl” at age 12.
They discussed his current role in Twilight as a werewolf Jacob Black.
Regis; " I would always rather be a werewolf than a Vampire”
Lautner: “Really”
Regis: "Love the werewolf”
Regis : “You feel like at the full moon....the full moon comes out... and all of the sudden your clothes pop off and there you are baby!”
The Twi-hards screamed loud for that remark .
When asked how he came to be in the series he said he “got the job, did some research”
Lautner said when he first heard about the series he “thought it had potential, I was not the biggest book reader before the series” said Lautner but now he reads often. When asked how does he get back into character after a long hiatus and headed back to set into "werewolf mode" Lautner replied “ It requires help from the director”.
Regis : “How you handling all the may day and the craziness the fans"
Lautner: “We didn’t expect anything close to this. We thought we were making a movie for some fans to enjoy, something we were passionate about, but this is just amazing. It blows my mind every single day."
Besides acting he is into sports plays catch with the cast in his off time. His favorite team is the Wolverines. For “New Moon” he had to to bulk up for the role and gained 30 lbs. Lautner says in the new story-line his character “loves Bella more than anything”. They showed a clip where his character transforms before our eyes to defend Bella. New Moon looks like a winner!
