Twilight sparks knit and crochet patterns for vampires

Knitting and crochet hot fashion is ever infuenced by what movie stars are wearing or have worn in favorite films or television shows. The Twilight Saga movie series and most recent release Breaking Dawn, Part 1, the last of the saga, has several knit and crochet accessories a few talented designing fans have posted as free patterns. Bella's mittens, a crochet hat, Alice Cullen's scarf and wrist warmers, any one is a great gift for Twilight film fans.

Bella Swan's mittens, designed by Marielle Henault,  look particularly warm and long, 13" to be exact, knit on a US 8 (5 mm) circular needle, using the magic loop method. Substitute a set of dpns, if you prefer. Bella wore the crochet hat in the La Push scene. Free pattern links are included below.

Genevieve Miller has published the Vampire Knits pattern book which includes 28 patterns for Twilight, True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries fans, available on Amazon. Miller has also just written about her work as a knitting designer and the Twilight series in "Movies as Craft: Capturing Twilight with a Knit and a Purl" for wordandfilm.com.  She's now knitting the hoodie (a la Edward) pictured on the front cover of her pattern book and designed by Cirilia Rose.
