Exciting news for fans of “The Twilight Saga”: the fourth film in the vampire romance series, “Breaking Dawn Part 1”, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray this Saturday, February 11. The film, which is the first part of what will be the last of the movies based on Stephanie Meyers’ wildly popular books, will be available everywhere on Saturday, but for those who just can’t wait, Wal-Mart and Target will be holding midnight release parties the Friday night before.
Wal-Mart’s bash starts at 11 PM, and will include Twilight-themed cupcakes and cakes, trivia, giveaways, and a special screening on the stores’ TVs of series regular Rosalie Cullen (Nikki Reed) counting down to the midnight release of the DVD. Also that night, everyone who purchases the film on DVD or Blu-ray (which comes packed as “Bella’s Special Wedding Edition”) will receive a fabric poster depicting Bella and Edward’s wedding. But if you are a true “Twilight” fan, it really is hard to beat the midnight surprises waiting at Target. Tickets will be distributed at 9 PM Friday night. At 11 PM, participating Target stores will be screening never-before-seen footage from the final installment in the series, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2”, which will be released in theaters this November. This footage supposedly contains major plot points, and features exclusive interviews with the cast. On top of that, those who buy the DVD or Blu-ray set at midnight will receive an authentic flower from the set of Bella and Edward’s wedding.
