Twilight Run in Libertyville September 5

Last year’s Twilight Shuffle was a staggering success with 730 registered participants braving a warm Sunday evening on Labor Day weekend to sprint, jog, and stroll across the finish line. 

 

Race directors Beth Kraft and Stephanie Herbek are planning for upwards of 1000 racers this year, partly because of popularity of last year’s event and because many families are looking for fun things to do in the local community. Racers ages 9 and older will join their parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends in a hilly 3.12-mile journey through the neighborhoods of downtown Libertyville. Seasoned runners looking for the challenge of a hilly course also seek out this race.

 

In an effort to make this year’s race run even more smoothly than last year, Twilight Shuffle organizers have added online registration through www.signmeup.com/65449 through August 28, chip timing for added accuracy, and more youth age brackets. Back by popular demand, the post-race party (which includes dinner) will again be held at Mickey Finn’s Brewery, where every registered racer receives free admission, family memberscan enter for $10, and children under 12 are free.

 

Race Entry Fees

Advance registration is encouraged, but race-day registration will also be held from 4:00-5:00pm on Sunday September 6, at the race start/finish area on Newberry Ave. All racers will receive a goody bag, and the first 500 registered racers will also receive a Twilight Shuffle t-shirt.

 

Twilight Shuffle sponsor The Runner’s Edge for opens their doors to race participants. Pre-registered runners can pick up their racer packets at The Runner’s Edge in Libertyville from 11am-7pm on Friday, September 4 and 10am-4pm on Saturday, September 5.
