While everyone was gearing up for the Oscars, there was another awards show this weekend - kind of the "anti-Oscars". Sat. Feb. 23 was the 33rd Annual Razzie Awards, also held in Hollywood. The Razzies honor (?) the worst Hollywood has to offer. The movies that make us cringe (and not in a good way).
Most years I tend to be in agreement with the Razzie nominations/winners. However, I thought this year's list overlooked some real turkeys, including my vote for Worst Picture of 2012, "Dark Shadows".
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two" was the most nominated film of the year with eleven nomination across the ten categories the Razzies honor. Last year, Adam Sandler's "Jack & Jill" swept all ten categories. This year, Twilight came close, but had to settle for 7/10. My favorite? Worst Screen Couple for Taylor Lautner and Mackenzie Foy.
Truth be told, Twilight didn't even make my list this year. I hated the first movie, but thought they gradually improved over time, enough to say I actually enjoyed "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2".
The other multiple award winner this year was Adam Sandler, repeating for Worst Actor and Worst Screenplay for "That's My Boy". Rihanna also picked up a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for her role in "Battleship".
