Twilight: The Score, Music from the Motion Picture
In Twilight, Edward, played by Robert Pattinson, is a vampire who falls in love with Bella, played by Kristen Stewart.
Since Edward has been seventeen for "a while" he has had plenty of time to build up his collection of music. When Bella visits his bedroom, she finds Claire de lune in his CD player. Bella surprises Edward by being able to name the song. Bella says Claire de lune is "cool." Definitely not your typical teenage reaction to music published in the early 1900's.
Another scene shows Edward sitting at a beautiful grand piano serenading Bella with Bella's Lullaby. What teenage girl wouldn't melt? And what teenage boy wouldn't notice the reaction it had over the teenage girls? Teenage boys may not be able to be a vampire, but they can certainly learn how to play the piano.
What makes this scene even better is the fact that Robert Pattinson is an accomplished piano player. He is actually playing the piano in the movie. How cool is that?
Judging on how many questions there are on Yahoo Answers from teenage girls looking for the music for Bella's Lullaby, it has definitely inspired a new generation of teenagers to play piano.
The music for Bella's Lullaby can be found in Twilight the Score, by Carter Burwell and published by Hal Leonard. Other songs in the book include: Who Are They?, Phascination Phase, I Dreamt of Edward, The Lion Fell in Love with the Lamb, Dinner with his Family, I Would be the Meal, Stuck here like Mom, Tracking, In place of someone you Love, and Edward at her Bed.
With the upcoming release of the Twilight sequel New Moon, I'm hoping this new "Piano is Cool" trend will continue for years to come.
