While the “Twilight” films were all successful at the box office, there is one thing that the last three entries have been unable to avoid: being nominated for Worst Movie of the Year.
“Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” the final chapter in the vampire series, earned 11 nominations for this year’s Razzie Awards. The nominees were announced Jan. 8 on the official Razzie Awards website.
Even though there are only 10 categories, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” was nominated twice in the Worst Screen Couple section. One was for Mackenzie Loy and Taylor Lautner, while the other was for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Lautner, Stewart, and Pattinson were all also respectively nominated for Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Actress, and Worst Actor.
Coming in second with eight nominations was Adam Sandler’s critically panned comedy, “That’s My Boy.” Sandler was nominated for Worst Actor, while Vanilla Ice and Nick Swardson were both nominated in the Worst Supporting Actor category.
“Battleship” came in third with seven nominations. Liam Neeson was nominated in the Worst Supporting Actor category, while Rihanna, who made her film debut in the Peter Berg-directed feature, was nominated for Worst Supporting Actress.
