Without a doubt, the film adaptation of the best seller 'Twilight' has greatly affected pop culture. From hair to clothing, teens and young people all over the globe are trying to mimic the characters in this movie. Yet, one unexpected off shoot of all of this fanaticism is the renaming of canines. In 2009, 'Twilight' fans made Bella the most popular dog name of the year.
Prior to 2009, the name Max was popular. New dog owners couldn't wait to give it to their pet. Yet, with the onset of the 'Twilight' machine, the new wave of these people made a concerted switch to Bella. Apparently, it was a way to bring a part of a beloved character to life in their home. Now, this ultra-feminine name is top dog.
Who knew that a film about vampires, romance and teens would have such a deep impact on western culture? Thank goodness people didn't react the same to the movie Dracula. For more information on dog names, visit the blog DogNamesWoof.com.
