Twenty to watch in 2013 (part 2)

You can find part 1 here.

Tony Lucca - From his start as a Mouseketeer with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake to his recent stint as the winner of Team Adam on NBC's The Voice, Lucca has been in the public eye quite a bit. He has toured with fellow Twenty to Watch artists Keaton Simons and Curtis Peoples, and was on Team Adam with Katrina Parker. With a new recording contract with Adam Levine's 222 Records, expect this artist to explode on the music scene in 2013.

Magnolia Memoir - Led by the powerful vocals of lead singer Mela Lee, this eclectic band brings back the Rat Pack days in a new and exciting way. They are poised to take off into orbit in 2013.

Me and Mr. Cassidy - Scott Cassidy and Hope Leigh Rollins are a breath of fresh air in today's "one sound fits all" market. They are a return of the storyteller, with their songs and albums telling a story from start to finish. Expect great things from these guys in 2013.

Katrina Parker - Parker recently came to light when she narrowly lost to Tony Lucca on The Voice, but she's been known to lovers of indie music in LA for quite some time. With her Kickstarter fundraiser for her new album almost complete, expect a new addition to the worldwide music scene. Parker is an artist that is poised to be bigger than Adele.

Curtis Peoples - I first heard about this artist when I was sent to interview him for Music Connection Magazine. He has one of the best personalities and richest baritone voices of any artist in LA, and will soon be known worldwide. He will be featured on Carson Daly's Last Call show at 1:35 a.m. on February 5 (set your DVRs). His upcoming album will be even hotter than his last one, which was one of the best I have ever heard.

Keaton Simons - Simons has been signed to Maverick and CBS Records, and his songs have been heard on almost every show currently running on CBS. Simons recently made the decision to start his own label, Best Revenge Records and launch his new studio album in April 2013. Coming off his LA Music Critic Award for best live album, Beautiful Pain will surely be a contender for Best Male album next year. This artist is a national treasure who will be fully revealed in 2013.

Nina Storey - Much like Mandi Perkins, Storey has risen from a singer-songwriter background to become a powerful lead singer of her own band. In the process, her songwriting has matured as she has collaborated with other incredible writers to produce what may be the best album of 2013, Think Twice. Catch her upcoming show at Hotel Cafe on February 21, and you'll see what I mean.

The Young Romans - I discovered this young couple at last year's Rockdrive benefit, and fell in love with their music, their lyrics and their charitable hearts. They live what they believe, helping out with a charity that reunites the homeless with their families. They will be a force to be reckoned with in 2013.

T'Lark - This young New Orleans native has brought a fresh sound to LA, much like a young Joni Mitchell. She is hard at work on her first studio album, and has already taken LA by storm. The rest of the country will see what she can do in 2013.

JC Villafan - Nominated for Best EP by the LA Music Critic Awards, Villafan is the essence of soul. His music appeals to all generations and genres, and is taking him on a month-long tour of Europe in the near future. Check out The Sweet Times EP and see what I mean. Watch out 2013!
