The goal was to find a dozen great new products each day at the CES 2013. So far, that hasn’t been hard. What’s hard is narrowing it down to only twelve per day.
NODE is the new personal sensor that does temperature sensing, motion sensing, weather and color matching in real time with your iOS device. (Android coming soon.) Forget that iffy paint color matcher at Lowe’s and match your own color to the closest chip from major manufacturers. Low price makes it definitely consumer affordable.
Canon’s built-in Wi-Fi allow you to transfer images directly to social networks as you shoot with the compact PowerShot N. Super pocketable, this camera has a fold out viewfinder for waist level or over the head shooting. Shoots 12.1 megapixel stills and 1080p video.
Canon’s Vixia HF G20 camcorder will be all you need to shoot really great quality full 1920 x 1080 images on its 1/3” sensor. Get 12 hours of recording on the built-in 32 GB memory and add more with two SD card slots. You can even copy your footage within the machine. 10x optical zoom equals 35mm equivalent: 30.4mm – 304mm.

iRig Mic Cast from IK Multimedia is a two level directional microphone that fits iOS and Android devices. Suitable for doing any quality recording, it drops out background noise and can be turned in the direction of the sound source.
Ventev is showing off their 2100 utility charger for USB devices. Swing out the 12v end to use in your car or fold that away and swing out the 110v tips for at home or office. Two USB ports can do two devices at once.

Domke is updating their line of photographer’s bags with same great functionality (even better) but new looks and new accessories will be available by WPPI.
Lowel Lighting products has a new specialty photo light for location photographers. Looking very similar to a workmen’s battery pack light, this GL-1 light can be hand held or mounted to a light stand. Directional lighting with variable light output lets you put that highlight just where you want it – as strong as you want it.
Davis and Sanford have the answer for travel photographers with this super compact tripod – the Traverse. Unlock all rotating rings on each leg with one hand using just a ¼ turn and the legs drop to full length. The small B-1 ball head will handle up to 11 pounds.
