8 P.M. (WNBC) CHUCK Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) must confront a secret from her past, as well as her original handler (Tim DeKay), and refuses the help of Chuck (Zachary Levi). Cheryl Ladd plays Sarah’s mother.

8 P.M. (WABC) THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (2005) In Andrew Adamson’s adaptation of the C. S. Lewis novel, children are transported from World War II England to mystical Narnia, where they join the noble lion Aslan (the voice of Liam Neeson) with Skandar Keynes, to free the land from the clutches of an evil white witch (Tilda Swinton).

9 P.M. (WNET 13) AMERICAN MASTERS: Troubadours: Carole King/James Taylor & The Rise of the Singer-Songwriter. As the 1960s came to a close, a new style of song and songwriter emerged. The Troubador, a Los Angeles club, was the place to hear the new style of James Taylor, Carole King, Randy Newman, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens and others who shared their most intimate thoughts in song, backed by little more than a lone acoustic guitar or piano.

9 P.M. (Showtime) THE COMPANY MEN (2010) Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Cooper portray mid- to high-level employees at a fictional Boston company confronting sudden corporate downsizing — the better to justify the chief executive’s $22 million salary on the eve of a probable merger.
