TV ratings: 'Fringe,' 'Grimm' both at series lows; 'Blue Bloods' wins

Friday night marked new episodes for every network across the board, and this extra competition seemed to hurt a good many shows on the schedule -- though it did cause ABC to tie CBS for the night thanks to some counter-programming.

  • "Fringe" tied its series low with a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic, and it wasn't alone -- "A Gifted Man" and "Grimm" did the same thing on other networks. When it comes to why, NBC has put "Grimm" in a tricky position in that its new episodes have aired all over the place. Last week, the show was off thanks to the "Chuck" series finale -- hopefully some consistency will pull it back up from a 1.4.
  • "20/20" and "Blue Bloods" tied for the top rating in the demo, though the latter show had more overall viewers on the night with over 11 million people watching.
  • "Who Do You Think You Are?" drew more viewers than "Chuck" had during this entire season wtih 6 million watching the season premiere -- but its 1.1 rating was not really any better than what our favorite spies pulled off.
  • Finally, CW fans can rejoice "Supernatural" not falling below a 0.7 rating -- though "Nikita" stay down at its series low 0.5.
