CMT keeps the hits coming, and debuted another new reality television series, "Swanderosa," following the ups and downs of the Swans -- a San Antonio family trying to turn their homestead into a premiere wedding venue.
While two half-hour episodes premiered over the weekend, loaded with trials and tribulations, the hands-down cutest moment of the premiere episodes was daughter Lindsay's little girl, grabbing a pair of high-heeled shoes and walking around in them, cooing with delight. It was cute enough to melt the most cantankerous heart. But after that, it was off to the races, while the Swans struggled to put together a Great Gatsby themed wedding and a purple Fairytale wedding vow renewal.
Eldest daughter Ashley coordinates the events; mom and resident perfectionist Judy executes her floral visions; dad Tom spins custom mixes as the house DJ, Dr. Smoove; and younger daughter Lesley is a whiz with a glue gun and some power tools. Tom also picked up a new skill set dueing he premiere episodes when he got himself ordained to actually perform the ceremonies.
It may not have exactly gone off without a hitch, but he got through it. And they weathered a rainstorm that blew over just in time for their outdoor venue, a request for a Duesenberg car, and Judy's near breakdown over a rather, shall we say, not so good result when trying to paint their candy room walls to look like a Speakeasy.
But they pulled it all together, and no one would ever guess that so many things went wrong putting together two couples' big days. Well, at least not until they watch the show.
